Activities

Rockwood South Middle School offers the opportunity for students to participate in organizations whose activities help meet the leisure, recreational, and social needs and interests of the students. In addition, the student organizations help develop leadership potential and provide a vital link in the social development of the active participants. In most cases, admission to membership is based on interest and willingness to attend meetings and be an active member (the exception being those which have certain scholarship requirements).

Student activities are only for students within our own school and no student activities shall be restricted in any way to selected students except as prescribed by the staff and administration. After school activities are a privilege and participation may be revoked if a student violates school or district rules and regulations.

Available activities will be communicated to students. To participate, students must sign up for an after-school activity by 4:00 pm on Monday for that week on their school counselor's Canvas page. This procedure must be repeated each week the student wishes to participate.

Our Fenton Activity bus picks up from RSMS at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesdays. Any student interested in staying after school will need to sign up using the After School Activity Form in order to be able to attend and mark the proper transportation home each week by 4:00 p.m. on Mondays.

Announcements/Announcement Leaders

Daily announcements are communicated to students during first hour classes and during lunch period. In addition, announcements can be found running continuously on video screens in the lobby as well as on the school website. Please pay close attention to these announcements, as activity cancellations and changes will be announced then.
